Introduction My name is Char and I'm a Licensed School Counselor in New York State. I've struggled with my weight my entire life. I've tried fad diets, Weight Watchers, starving myself, and just trying to eat sensibly. After I went on vacation in 2012 to a beach, I had a wake up call. Some photos that were taken of me made me realize how big I was. I started with SparkPeople tracking my food, and now use MyFitnessPal to simply count calories. I've started going to the gym at least 3 times a week, but now I'm up to 5 days a week. I originally was doing mostly cardio with a little strength training, but have transitioned to increase strength training and have fallen in love with Zumba. I can run farther than a mile and the most I've run is over 4 miles. While on vacation I made every effort to get up and run on the beach (makes me want to live there so I could do that every morning). I've lost 90 pounds. I have about 30 pounds to go to reach my ultimate goal. But the scale cannot be the only tool. used. It can be deceptive.
