| Introduction | The Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra was founded in 1972 by parents, educators, and members of the Dallas music community. In 39 years it has grown to include 7 ensembles: The Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, The Philharmonic, The Wind Symphony, The Sinfonietta, The Dallas String Ensemble, The Young Performers Orchestra, and the Flute Choir. The GDYO program offers training to over 400 talented youth musicians from age 6 through 18. |
