IntroductionA born artist...love everything creative and love to create. Love to explore the universe/my surroundings to find inspiration. At an early age, learning art was easy! Both parents have art degrees, and my parents named me after Howard Chandler Christy, a 20th century illustrator and distant relative. I studied briefy at NOAFA, but am primarily self-taught. I love other artists and collecting their work (the ones I can afford!)...Van Gogh's swirly textural paintings, Erte's precision and genious, Seay's funky tropical birds, Clementine Hunter's primative paintings with their bright colors, 5 Cent Jones' spiritual paintings, Marc Calvet's crazy funky monkey art (monkey's rule!), Pam Sloan's cotton fields, Rodrigue's "other" paintings (the Blue dog is overkilled), Pollack's insanity, anything by Jean Despujol (who needs a PERMANENT EXHIBIT!), Christopher Stebly's new wonders, J.C. Leyendecker (the greatest unknown illustrator), Marlin Welch's colorful crabs, Michelopolous' textural and wavy New Orlean's architecture, Blair Thrall New Orleans scenes, and A. B. Crochet's wood relief paintings. Always on the lookout for new art to drool over!
