| Introduction | Mikepsyched is an unconventional chameleon. I graduated from the well known South Florida performing arts conservatory, New World School of the Arts, one of U.S. News top 100 high schools. While at NWSA, I studied with the Miami Conservatory of Ballet and did summers at the Ailey School in New York City. After 7 years of professional training, I left the arts world in 2005 *tear*. The pathological politics of the performing arts world was…well destructive for a young man that was a true artist at heart. I went on to receive a B.S. in psychology and am currently working on my master’s in counseling, specializing in mental health and family and couples therapy. I have an interest in body image/eating disorders, personality, multicultural/sexual minority issues and post-modern theory. I hope to deal with artists once I complete my education (Ph.D…somewhere in the future) and encourage them to express themselves and grow artistically. I would also hope to express myself artistically again, but all in good time… |
