Do you believe that forks are evolved from spoons?
Of course not. Both forks and spoons must have evolved from sporks. Just because we can't find any "sporks" which predate spoons and forks doesn't mean we can't believe this. Forget the evidence, just accept what I'm telling you, because I'm a scientist.
