| Introduction | I arrived in rural Guatemala nearly ten years ago while working with an educational program with the Peace Corps. While living abroad, not only did I fall in love with Guatemala, but I also met and fell in love with my husband. We've planted roots in Guatemala where we live with our 2 rambunctious daughters and our two equally rambunctious dogs. I co-founded La Puerta Abierta Children's Learning Center(www.opendooratitlan.org) in 2006 and recently opened La Puerta Abierta Preschool. I continue to feel blessed to collaborate with the children and teachers of Guatemala and to have work that is truly gratifying. |
