| Introduction | My name is Chris "Go-Go" Harder and I'm a New York City based Boylesk Performer, teacher, costumer, and all around advocate for the "Stripper Arts." This blog is dedicated to all things BOYLESK, from famous and current performers, to everyday inspirations, and especially "The Intro to Boylesk Class" I am now teaching for the second time. "What is this 'Boylesk,'" you may be asking yourself?" Simply put, Boylesk is the male form of female burlesque. However, Boylesk has grown to incorporate many performance forms and ideals, including aspects of theater, dance, go-go dancing, drag, and performance art, all united under that big see-through umbrella known as STRIP-TEASE! Bottom line: be a guy; take your clothes off; do it artfully. And if you're really committed, put some glitter on dammit! Currently this blog serves also as a teaching post for my students where I'll be posting everything from homework assignments (yes, even strippers have homework), performer videos, as well as advertising for our student showcase happening TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25TH! Follow along as we continue to learn all about the A-Z of the G-string and feel free to post any related Boylesk info and photos. |
