| Introduction | With the goal of gram swarajya, Vishwa Manav Sewa Ashram was set up 10 yrs ago on 12 Jan’1997. Village Developement through village resources on sustainable basis is the basic principles of Ashram. Village sanitation, poverty alleviation through more scientific methods of agricultural practices and small scale production, Impetus to the swadeshi movement through Charkha (Spinning Wheel), Basic and skill oriented education, social awareness, strengthening of Panchayati Raj Institution and direct democracy at local level with village as a unit, generating sensitivity toward global outlook and activeness on the line of inherited ideals of VASUDHAIV KUTUMBAKAM, are the parameters defined by Ashram and perceived under domain of GRAM SWARAJYA. Over past 10 years we have covered 22 villages under 3 panchayats and partial success in terms of education, sanitation and awareness has been achieved. Ashram Centers has been established at three centeral locations namely Narkatiaganj, Bhantadeeh and Carriee at distance of 20 -30 kms from main center as a launch pad to prepare band of committed and trained sewaks to carry out the movement in villages.
