| Introduction | I am a mechanical engineer by degree and by most of my career, and am a board member of the Fort Wayne Engineers Club, and Treasurer of the local chapter of the SAE. I am bilingual and have Spanish/English translation/interpretation experience throughout my education and career, and am a volunteer translator with the Rosetta Foundation. I have a strong interest in languages and literacy training, and am currently on the Board of Directors of The Literacy Alliance. Now I am gathering new career experiences: 1. Tax preparation! I intended it to be a part-time job, but ended up as Office Manager of the H&R Block office not 5 blocks from me. 2. Tutoring! I discovered Wyzant.com and I love it! It simplifies starting as a freelance tutor and I'm gaining students quicker than I thought I would! 3. Exchange students! I was International Exchange Coordinator for EF High School Exchange Year, a non-profit arm of Education First. I was blessed to have hosted high school exchange students for 3 years! |
