| Introduction | Marcus and I met in type class in High School. After 2 years of being friends, I knew I was missing out on something more. I was definately right about that! We had always flirted lots and so going from best buds to dating was pretty easy. Marcus and I dated for two years. We spent nearly every evening on dates. If we ended up at his house, he would follow behind in his car to make sure I got home safely. He only ever missed once and that's because we had fallen asleep and I woke up and snuck out, I did get a lecture the next day. We were married on a beautiful and hot summer day in 1996 and bought our house in December of the same year. We always said we'd wait 5 years to have kids, and we did. After that we said we'd wait 5 more to have another and although we changed our minds and wanted one sooner, for medical reasons had to wait and came to accept it was out of our hands. We waited and waited for about 3 years. You can imagine the excitement and blessings we felt as we welcomed Mariah into our family. Funny thing how things work out.. She and Hayley are 5 years apart! We're still in our now 11 year old home, we have great neighbors and a loving ward family. |
