About me

Occupation Author
Location Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States
Introduction I have always been entranced by a 'good read' and can be found curled up reading or creating a book whenever I have a spare moment. What draws me to a book is usually simple interest in a fun tale. But what makes me love a book is the design of its content, where the ideas presented are trying to lead their readers. I have always been fascinated by the written word, philosophical reasoning, and good stories of bravery and honor. I found it all and more in the Bible, and strive to let its influence deluge all my writing.
Favorite Music Andrew Peterson, The Gray Havens, Nathan Clark George, would be my top three. Then an eclectic mix; Owl City, Bach, Gaelic Storm (their instrumentals mainly), Sandra Boynton, JJ Heller, Vivaldi, Hevia, Alexander Rybak, Tchaikovsky... I always have a mix of music to write too, and most of my lists are comprised of soundtracks by John Powell.
Favorite Books Romans is my ultimate favorite. Then Psalms, anything by G. K. Chesterton (but especially his masterful "Manalive" and "The Ballad of the White Horse"), Jan Brett, Charles Dickens (especially "Little Dorrit" and "Bleak House"; "Oliver Twist" and "David Copperfield" not so much), Tennyson, Walter Brooks' "Freddy the Pig" series, Elizabeth Barrett Browning (especially her beautiful "Tempest" and "Aurora Leigh"), anything by Aaron Gruben, Alistair MacLean's great spy thrillers, C.S. Lewis tales (yes, I love his Narnia books, and before you ask I'll tell you; "The Last Battle" is my favorite), Robert Louis Stevenson ("St. Ives" and "Treasure Island" come to mind as especial favorites), Milton's "Paradise Lost", I love Robert McCloskey's "Homer Price", and Howard Pyle's "Wonder Clock" and "Robin Hood", John Piper's "The Swans are Not Silent" series, Scott Gustafson's "Classic Fairy Tales" book, the Bodkin sisters... You get the idea.
