Introduction For many years I have combined two of my great interests by walking around the coast of England. By the end of 2008 I had achieved over 50% of my target, but completion on foot looks unlikely in view of some of the great distances involved and the isolated nature of some of the areas. To overcome this, I have bought a folding bicycle which I find very handy for bus or train travel. In addition, it allows me to cover three times the mileage in a day. I shall be walking, particularly on the SW Coast Path, but the bike has already proved its worth on the Solway Firth and the Thames Estuary in Kent. In addition to the above, I study singing as a tenor, taking part in concerts with my wife (a soprano), small vocal ensemble and a chamber choir.

Which is more important to you and why: flexibility or expandability?

They are both equally important. Without expandability you cannot widen your horizon. Without flexibility you miss many opportunities to do the same.
