Favorite Movies Too many to name.Classics are a great way to begin.I have been following Masters like Satyajith Ray, Igmar Bergman, Fassbinder, Kurosowa, DeSica, Goddard, Fellini. Hitchcock, Woody Allen, Scorcesse, DePalma, Spielberg, Riddley Scott are other names that come to mind.Guru Dutt, Aparna Sen, Vishal Bharadwaj, Govind Nihalani, Srinivasan, Girish Kasarvalli, Siby Malayil, are some Indian directors I remember.Among the current directors Soderbergh is not to be forgotten as also Blessy.I love comedy as a genre and movies like As Good as it Gets, A Fish called Wanda, most of Woody Allen's films, Kundan Shah, Hrishikesh Mukerjee, Sathyan Anthikad are favourites.Well if I write all my favourites I will need a book, not a page!
Favorite Music Once again too many.Preference is for melody with lyrical merit and therefore old Hindi and Malayalam songs. Classical Music- Mozart and the Carnatic trinity.Kishori Amonkar and Rabindra Sangeeth. Developed a taste for ghazals. Do like hip hop and rap too. From Classical Carnatic to Nursat Fateh Ali Khan, from "Sound of Music" scores to Pussy Cat Dolls with the Beatles, Eagles, DireStraits, Queen, Abba, BeeGees and Simon & Garfunkle in between, here too its a problem of plenty.
Favorite Books Once again from Shakespeare to Paul Coelho, Kiran Desai to Dan Brown, John Grisham to Henry James I read anything that has a good story and is written well.Non fiction too. Semi - philosophical and management/ marketing/advertising books also form part of my library.
