Introduction | We are a Community Interest Company who, with the help of various partners, have transformed an area of derelict land into a well designed, user friendly green open space in which people can enjoy, relax in and possibly take part in a range of activities. This was named Green Heart Den by local school children. Currently we are in the progress of developing a similar piece of land, to the immediate north of the railway arches, as a community "grow your own" type scheme and are also hoping to gain approval to develop several adjacent, vacant railway arches in such a way that will be of benefit to the community. We believe that the full involvement of local people in the process will not only provide the best opportunity for long term sustainability of the project but will also help with the wider social and economic regeneration of the area, providing people with skills and confidence to start new projects, access training or further education or find employment either within the project or elsewhere. |
