Introductionaf.photography@hotmail.co.uk I was born in the county of 'Spires & Squires', Northamptonshire, and grew up in the picturesque village of Castle Ashby where four generations of my family, including my Dad and younger brother, worked on the Marquis of Northampton's estate. Castle Ashby House, with its Capability Brown landscaped gardens, and the surrounding area all contributed to my love of historic English architecture and the great British landscape, in all its forms. I was fortunate to be taught painting by the renowned railway artist, Barry Freeman, who's super-realistic, almost photographic depiction of nostalgic scenes was a huge inspiration to me and people often tell me that my photographs look like paintings. If they do, it's Barry's fault! I moved up to Yorkshire in 1989 and currently live in Bradford, which, despite the best efforts of the City Council to demolish everything in sight, is a beautiful city with some truly breathtaking architecture. Best of all, it is set amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the whole country. www.andrewfowlerphotography.com
