| Introduction | Hiya, I'm Gem. a 30 year old English overweight married lady with a love for most things dotty and most things Dutch. I own a beautiful Dutch style bicycle I love which I use for daily errands and the short commute to and from work. I know very little about bicycles but I know I love cycling and the feeling of being able to get around using my own energy and 2 wheels. Nothing beats the feeling of the breeze hitting my face. Simple as. I'm also a lover of polka dots (hence the blog title), Cath Kidston esque lovelies, retro cream goodies, travelling, camping and the family dog Max. I generally love life's simple pleasures and I envy the way the Dutch have incorporated the simple pleasure of riding a bicycle into their daily lives so it appeals to all. I'm just trying to create my own little piece of the Netherlands here in England,(try as I can), and am constantly on the search for gorgeous inexpensive feminine bicycle accessories (expensive I know, but Cath Kidston are you listening?!). | Interests | Photography, camping, cycling. Trying to bike as much as I can, including to town, to do my food shopping and to friends etc, to 1) get fit, 2) be green & 3) lose some weight!! All I will say is when my panniers are loaded with food shopping including bottles & tins along with my heavy bicycle chain, U lock & then me it's hard going getting up the hill to my house! I dread to think how much weight in total my legs are slowly propelling up! All good, though it does ache after! |
