| Introduction | My family moved to Manor in the Fall of 1952.The land on which we lived had originally belonged to the heirs of the oldest man to die in the battle of the Alamo. I attended Manor schools from the 3rd grade until I graduated from Manor High in 1962 at which time I moved to Austin. I was married in 1966 and lived in San Antonio while I served 2 years in the US Army at Ft. Sam Houston. I moved back to Austin and over the years lived in 10 different cities in 5 different states, ending up back in Austin in 1989 and then, in 2001, back to the same land in Manor where I had grown up. I have seen many years worth of changes in Manor and the surrounding area and have many memories of Manor people, places and things that are perhaps unknown to many of Manor's residents today. |
