| Introduction | An interest in Arts and Crafts from childhood, earned me a few prizes in contests. This encouraged me to learn crafts that came my way while I resided in Kolkata with my husband and two sons. When I had to shift to my hometown Coimbatore to look after the elders in the family, I started an arts and crafts teaching center in the 80s. I developed my own designs and techniques for reverse glass painting of Indian figures.I continued teaching this art for 20 years and my students of three generations are still in touch with me. After reading freezing techniques of western cooking, I made an attempt to make South Indian cooking easy for seniors. But it was appreciated by all age groups We came to Bangalore to lead a retired life.I had my ups and downs in heath.A partial loss of vision became a handicap. But I learned to live with problems after I met the children in FAME India, when I became a volunteer to help Mentally retarded and muscular dystrophy children.After fighting thyroid cancer, today I am out of hibernation to be in the company of art lovers. Hope I can contribute constructively through this forum. |
