| Introduction | I have created this blog in order to fill what I feel is a gap in the landscape in Western Massachusetts: an independent outlook on performance and theater in the area. My hope is to contribute to the creative work being done in the area by responding to that work as a critic, and also to provide audiences with guide posts to help them navigate 'the scene' and to refine their appreciation of various styles of performance. The theatrical landscape at this moment in history is as varied as it's ever been, in the world at large and in our neck of the woods. Occasional excursions to theaters elsewhere (Boston, New Haven, New York, and who knows) will help to enrich the conversation. And I do hope that this blog will become a conversation, a place for creators and audiences to reflect on what they are experiencing and making and thinking about and feeling. |
