| Introduction | I have worked as a journalist around the world for over 30 years covering everything from demitasse to the DMZ between North and South Korea. In 1999, I began writing about wine and wine culture while living in the Napa Valley. I've written wine columns for the San Francisco Chronicle and the Contra Costa Times, and stories for Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Searcher, Sunset, France Today, among many others. I am the author of Wine Genius (MQ Publications, London), Wine Aficionado (Octopus Publishing Group, London) and Napa Valley: The Land, the Wine, the People (Ten Speed Press, Berkeley). A former documentary filmmaker and foreign correspondent in Tokyo, Japan, I am also a lawyer who works in the field of elder law. I live outside San Francisco. |
