Occupation Musician

Introduction I have always thought of myself as half an instrument - both drums and bass are the rhythm section. I played bass with a 1950's show band right out of high school (Wally & The Starfires), then eventually with an original rock & roll band (Johnny Bombay and The Reactions). I've played with some of the finest drummers in Washington D.C. (Jim Dougherty, Joe Romero, the late John Lee, and the mighty Doug Tull). With their help, and the influence of my favorite bassist, the late Donald "Duck" Dunn; I became a reasonably decent bass player. However; I still SUCKED at guitar. This blog is my journey; to reach the lofty goal of becoming a competent rhythm guitarist. Hopefully this will make me a better songwriter; and perhaps, allow me to put my own band together next year.
