| Introduction | I spent the majority of my life traveling, stopping whenever I came across a master tradesman that I could learn from. The skills came in handy anywhere I was. Twenty years ago I bought 10 acres of jungle in the foothills of a fishing village on the Pacific coast of Mexico. Since then I spent 6 months of the year clearing and planting and the rest of the year earning money for more improvements. Amaranth and I married in 2004 and came to Mexico on our honeymoon. When she saw all that I had planted, saw the mango trees in bloom and the riot of tropical flowers, she caught the vision. This has been our home ever since. Together we have transformed the land into a fertile and prolific farm. Now we have 50 varieties of tropical fruit including mangosteens, and several vegetable and herb gardens, a house with a panoramic view of the ocean and two guest houses where we host visitors from all over the world who come to learn about organic farming. Sounds like a lot of work, right? It's become a LOVE-ly LIVE-li-hood! |
