| Introduction | Married to Mrs. Bill. Currently a probationer, but 2 years after my start date I will be a fully fledged copper. Basically, I am already a proper copper, it just means that in the first 2 years, the bosses can chuck me out with a weeks notice if they see fit :-(. My ever loving wife has taken to writing up my tales, so that the extended family and friends can see what I am up to. So far I have thoroughly enjoyed being in the Police - I have seen a few really sad things and I am sure that many more will follow. I have also seen the relief on people's faces when I have turned up at an emergency or a confrontational dispute. My main fear is that of getting things wrong and acting inappropriately or writing something on a statement that isn't politically correct and getting told off for it! (yes, paperwork really does take up a stupid amount of a police officers time!). However, the job is great, the emotional rewards are huge and the excitement and thrill factor fantastic. I used to have to pay to go to theme parks and ride the big rides. Now I just turn up for work!! |
