IntroductionI was an average woman living in a small town in Texas until April 12, 2008 when I lost my beautiful 16 year old daughter, Chynna, to a birth defect of the heart - a defect we were all totally and completely unaware she possessed. Shortly thereafter, I was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer, which I fought and victoriously dominated! I am married, with two handsome adult sons and an amazing step-son. I don't know where I would be without all of my boys. I've somehow been able to hold on to at least a shred of my sanity, refusing to back down and determined not to lose my sense of humor. Go ahead and say it! Bless my heart. Chynnagirl....this is all for you!
InterestsReading, Writing, Stretching a dollar, and Gripping my sanity tightly with both hands!
Favorite moviesElephant Walk, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Pretty in Pink, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Urban Cowboy, Juno
Favorite musicNessum Dorma, Sinead O'Connor, Prince, old Bobbie Gentry songs - esp Ode to Billy Joe, and a little Jay-Z (but only when I work out)!
Favorite booksI love all books, but have a special admiration for women writers, esp Agatha Christie, Anne Tyler, Anita Shreve, and the amazing Jodi Picoult.

You get to ride the big roller coaster three times in a row. What will keep your dad from taking a bite out of your candy apple?

I hate candy apples, so there would be no such situation! Chocolate, however, is another story! I was a vegan for years until my family broke the news to me that chocolate is not a meat substitute!
