Introduction I'm Lana. My #1 passion in life is helping others. I finished up my degree in Elementary Education with concentrations in Science, Math, Language Arts, and Spanish. I love teaching, but life led me elsewhere, so I currently curate content for an educational website. I also love music and singing. A few other things I enjoy: media, dressing up, and having a good time with friends. I love staying connected. I would rather be thinking and discussing my ideas than be alone. I love to talk and am open to most. I am very quiet in large groups, but am talkative in small groups or 1:1. I am a Leo: a lion all the way! I love to accomplish things that benefit others. I am ambitious and ferocious in nearly everything. I rarely do things half-way. I live by "go big or go home." I hate being let down, and therefore make it a point NOT to let others down. I mean what I say and I say what I mean. I'm passionate about everything I do and live life to the fullest everyday!
Interests Teaching, reading, writing, music, movies, tattoos, tutoring, organizational skills, curriculum design and development, self-improvement, moral values, and so on...
Favorite Movies Oh, where to start? I haven't seen a lot of movies. But, I do love comedies, romances, and some action movies. I recently saw "Limitless" and REALLY enjoyed it! Others include (in no order): Pan's Labyrinth, Inception, Avatar, Big Daddy, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Riding in Cars with Boys, American Beauty, UP!, Up in the Air, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Coach Carter, Remember the Titans, Mona Lisa Smile, Freedom Writers, Precious, Shutter Island, and many, many more! Here's some TV, too, if you're interested: Glee, Grey's Anatomy, Law and Order: SVU, NCIS, House, How I Met Your Mother, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Numbers, So You Think You Can Dance, and some others.
Favorite Music Everything. Pretty much anything is fair game. :)
Favorite Books Ahh I love reading! I spend most of my time reading young adult fiction because I like relating to my students. I love the Percy Jackson series! Harry Potter is also a big thing for me... :) Pretty sure I should have gone to Hogwarts instead of high school... I love books that embrace diversity without overdoing it. I like tasteful teen literature. The best 'grown up' books I've read recently would have to be the Stieg Larsson series, "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." What fabulous, captivating literature! I also really enjoyed "Angela's Ashes" (Frank McCourt), "A Tale of Two Cities" (Charles Dickens), "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime" (Mark Haddon), "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" (Mitch Albom), "The Last Lecture" (Randy Pausch)... and oh the list could go on! :)
