Introduction	My name is Shelby Porter and I am in Dr. Stevos FNED section 05 class. I am looking forward to this semester, and getting to do my service learning project. I am pursuing a secondary education and history degree at RIC. I am a transfer student from URI so I don't really have a classification of what year I am, but this is my fourth year of college. I started out at URI as a physical therapy major, but soon discovered that it was not for me and to fall back to my original passion of history. I enjoy teaching people new things, helping them, and sharing my passions so that's why I decided to become a teacher. Outside of school, I work as a kickboxing instructor, and I also train as an amateur fighter. When I am not at the gym or school, I enjoy spending some relaxation time with family and friends. This is my first blog, so hopefully it gets better with time!
