IntroductionBorn in 1960, I've been surrounded by model trains since a very young age. In my teens, I started to develop an interest in electric trains, specifically street railways and interurbans, in particular those lines which operated in the general area of Chicago. Over the years I've spent time at various museums, restoring and operating some of these historic relics of the past. I've been a long time modeler, I would best describe my modeling as "Railroad Modeling", as opposed to "Model Railroading", the difference being that I prefer to spend my time and efforts building models, as opposed to operating a model railroad layout. I have also been building over the years a sizeable collection of books, photos, and memorabilia of these traction lines. In 2008, I decided to share this information with like-minded individuals, to put together a traveling display for presentation at clubs, trains shows, libraries, museums, etc. The display will consist primarily of models and memorabilia, to try and tell the story of the electric interurbans and their influence on the towns and people of the Fox River Valley.
