Introduction In my life before ceramics, I earned a degree in business. After that, I worked for a major hotel and resort company, a small chain of collegiate retail stores and a large software company. In 1992 I took a continuing education class in the Seattle area and fell in love with clay. A few years later, I moved to California and studied with a local ceramic artist and educator. I was blessed with three children in less than three years and turned to clay for sanity during those really crazy days. We moved back to the beautiful Pacific Northwest and set up a ceramics studio in our home outside of the Seattle area. Making ceramics brings me peace. I love to make objects that are pleasing to the touch and eyes - and functional, when possible. I love to run my hands over glazed pieces and feel the grooves and surfaces that were created with my hands. I love to carve into the clay to create images and interest. I love to look at the fruits of my labor at the end of the day as they sit drying on the shelf. Most of all, I love going to work.
