| Introduction | Dazzled and Frazzled are parents of gifted children who are working to give a voice to gifted learners in Ireland. We established the Irish Gifted Education Blog in order to raise awareness and open dialogue around gifted issues and are co-ordinators of a Gifted Advocacy and Support group in Wicklow/South Dublin. Our mission is to empower parents and to support teachers so that exceptionally able children in Ireland can be recognised, valued and supported.We work on a voluntary basis to raise awareness of the needs of exceptionally able learners through our blog, media outlets and speaking engagements. We ensure that the Department of Education and Skills is made aware of the needs of gifted learners by making written submissions and requesting meetings when appropriate. We are happy to share our expertise and experience. |
