Introduction I am currently writing my 33nd book - "The Forensic Academy Murders" the fifth novel in my Sleuth Forensic Mystery series. I have three perfect (really!) children, four amazing grandchildren (I know, I look too young, hahah!) and and truly incredible husband who is my best friend. Since I was young, I've found myself drawn to the world that I believe exists beyond our sight. I like to explore the paranormal because I think it validates that there is more to life than what we see. People fascinate me - why do they do what they do and how does their life experiences impact their choices? Since my best friend Savannah was the victim of a serial killer, I've spend a lot of my time studying the minds of murderers. I do believe in evil, but I also believe that EVERY person is valuable, and I enjoy individuality - all are welcome at my table. I hope to inspire others to write their own stories!
Interests I love to read (Harry Potter, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse! The Hunger Games, Catching Fire) and watch movies (Lord of the Rings, Stranger Than Fiction, The Painted Veil, The Life Before Her Eyes)eat popcorn, play, watch television (Ghost Hunters, Vampire Diaries, Glee, 30 Rock) and WRITE! Creating new worlds is a blast - the 'voices' inside my head finally have a place to go! I highly recommend writing to anyone/everyone who is creative!
Favorite Movies The Life Before Her Eyes, Harry Potter, Twilight and Eclipse, The Painted Veil, When Harry Met Sally, Sense and Sensibility, Emma, Restoration, Stranger Than Fiction, Waking Ned Divine
Favorite Music Lady Ga Ga is my flavor of choice as well as Pink, Katy Perry, Adam Lambert (Mad World is still my favorite of his) but I also like more traditional music (Celtic) as well as music that tells stories (Tim McGraw, Keith Urban). I like it all!
Favorite Books ALL the Harry Potter books, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, the Twilight series, as well as the work of Sylvia Plath, Philip Yancey, Jeffrey Eugenides, Alice Sebold, Harper Lee, Carol Lynch Williams, and of course, the best author of all, Gloria Skurzynski, who is also my mom!

My best friend was murdered by a serial killer in 1979. The murderer wasn't caught for over five years, and that trauma has fueled my interest in forensics. At least in my books, the killer gets caught. My next book series will feature a protagonist named Savannah, as a tribute to my friend. In my newest manuscript, Dragonfly Eyes, I use her name for my protagonist in her memory.
