IntroductionAnyone who has known me for 10 minutes knows I am from Wyoming, born and breed. I hold a professional degree from the University of Wyoming in Wildlife Conservation. I married my childhood sweetheart 51 years ago and we have 5 very successful kids. I had the extreme pleasure of being a U.S. National Park Ranger with 32 years of service to the People of the United States of America. I was stationed in 9 National Park Service areas and was assigned special duty as a Special Events Team member in additional 20 or so areas. Upon mandatory age retirement from the USNPS in 1995, I went to work as a firefighter for the City of Page, AZ. In 2002, after the City went broke (the first time) I was appointed Fire Chief. April 30, 2012 was my last day of duty for Page Fire as I was part of a reduction in force because of the current failing financial status of the City. At this point in my life I am an advocate for my old department and for fire, police and military personnel who find themselves in similar circumstances. My blog and website (pageazfirehorse.com) are dedicated to current circumstances and past stories of my career and those I have had the pleasure to serve with and for.
