| Introduction | My name is Emily. I am 31. I am married to one of ‘The Few, The Proud’, but I am far from one of the few – I am just 1 of 6 million women who share this silent struggle. My husband and I have endured IF for more years that I can keep track. We have been through countless clomid cycles, 9 IUIs, 4 IVFs, and 4 FETs. We have made 64 embryos, lost 2 sets of twins, 2 little girls and 4 other pregnancies, if your counting, Yes, that is a totally of 8 heart breaking miscarriages. I was Dx with MTHFR 6C77T, Activated Natural Killer Cells and Autoimmune Implantation Dysfunction. In February 2013 we were advised by my doctor that the only way we would achieve a full-term pregnancy would be with a surrogate and just weeks after that news, the Lord lead some amazing friends to step forward and bless us with a gift of a ‘rent-o-womb’ (with no rent required). And so begins our unexpected journey of IVF #9 and the amazing family who will do the most selfless act on the basis of faith and love. This is our story of Unexpected Grace through the darkest of times. |
