| Introduction | When I discovered my first husband was looking for love in all the wrong places, my mother-in-law wondered if my lack of ironing was the cause. She asked me, "Do you think he cheated because you don't iron. You know he really likes to look sharp." Taken aback, I mumbled something about taking his dress clothes to the cleaners, and that I doubted he was scamming for women on the Internet because of a wrinkly shirt. That was five years ago, and now I am happily remarried to a brilliant and wickedly funny engineer. I have found bliss the second time around, but I still bear the scars from my first marriage. "...Oh, I've been cheated. Been mistreated. But now I've found love..." However, it took hard work to mend my broken heart and learn to trust again. This blog is part of that journey. P.S. - If you happen to be a publisher, I could be talked into accepting a book deal. |
| Favorite movies | Hope Floats... As a Texas girl who returned home after being betrayed by her hubby, I found a great deal of comfort from watching this movie over and over again. I love Birdie's ending message, "Beginnings are scary. Endings are usually sad, but it's what's in the middle that counts. So, when you find yourself at the beginning, just give hope a chance to float up. And it will." |
