Introduction | I arrived in the world of OOAK doll art via a fibre arts background. My early creative endeavours included hand quilting, fine needlework, hand spinning,(a vast array of fibres) and weaving cloth. My art teaching career spans three decades with a focus of fibre art since 1989 and sculpting since 1999. My dolls are primarily sculpted and many pieces combine multimedia techniques for the enjoyment of collectors. I am particularly fond of creating fantasy figures. My home studio is located in a large second story loft space that overlooks our 20 acre forested property. It is a secluded retreat for me as well as for my students. I am an avid summer gardener, we have three ponds on the property and about two acres planted in flowers and herbs. It's a wonderful place to stimulate creativity. |
