Introduction	I am a self taught artist that has been drawing since my mother gave me my first pencil. Art is my escape from the world, a relaxation method better than meditation. When I begin looking at a piece everything around me disappears so that all that matters is the shades, light, lines and tones that flow across the page. I pick subjects based on an expression they give or an emotional response they produce within me. The eyes are always the beginning so that they can watch as the rest develops to make them reality. I employ techniques found in my studies of varies artists, talking to other artists, and experiences from life’s travels. Through high school my studies varied from Rembrandt to Dali for their uses of light, tones and emotions. Recent studies involve Leonardo da Vinci’s sketches, Cedric Emanuel, Clive Meredith and Linda Weil as I highly admire their uses of graphite.
