| Introduction | I’m a 40 year old housewife who’s lived her entire life thinking there’s some dance step that everyone else was born knowing or maybe you understand it as being the outsider during the inside joke, but either way, that discomfort led to a constant curiosity about how other folks get it. By 30, I at least figured out that there was no joke, no dance, no set of rules that everyone else was privy to, just a willingness on everyone else’s part to pretend it all makes sense.
