About me

Interests Doreen Duffy has studied the various forms of creative writing, at Oxford University online, at UCD and at NUI Maynooth. She is a member of Platform One Writers who meet every month and Phoenix Writers who also meet regularly at NUIM. Doreen writes short stories and poetry. Her work has been in various publications including Live Encounters, The Woman’s Way, The Irish Times, The Burning Bush 2 and Brilliant Flash Fiction. Her short stories have been included in Circle and Square Anthology, published by Fiery Arrow Press, Ireland’s Own Anthology, published by Original Writing, South of the County, New Myths and Tales, published by Fiery Arrow Press. She also read some of her short stories on Podcast.ie for All Points West Audio Productions. She was longlisted in the RTE Guide/Penguin Short Story Competition and shortlisted for the Fish Competition. She was awarded first place for poetry in the Jonathan Swift Competition and was delighted to be awarded the Deirdre Purcell Cup by the Maria Edgeworth Literary Festival.
