Introduction* Resides Denver, CO, formerly of metro L.A. * Retired mgr health services. Consulting business for information acquisition & analysis. * Practicing genealogist since 1995, specializes in families in Westward Movement 18th to 20th centuries and finds these present unique & difficult problems for family history. Believes historical context is a valuable and under-utilized tool in genealogy. * Genetic genealogy since 2003, attributes major breakthrough to Y-DNA. However, not a substitute for traditional genealogy. * Contributes to several genealogical mailing lists and is co-moderator of one. * Descends from Taylor line whose original immigrant ancestor (OIA) arrived Virginia in 1654 and whose descendants spread out through many states. He's developed a website for the Taylors of Craven and surrounding NC counties at http://tinyurl.com/55b4zs. * His two major genealogical goals currently are to (1) identify the parents of his 3GGF Michael Taylor (1789-1838) & (2) identify origin for the OIA of his GM's line.
