| Introduction | First, I'm old AND I'm not entirely interested, any more, in keeping up with technology - just ask any of my children who have tried to help me set clocks, program vcr's, figure out the cell phone, or upload to my ipod. BUT - I'm always up for a new adventure: from finding interesting headstones in a graveyard to hiking the beautiful (if strenuous) Peek a Boo loop trail in Bryces OR up Garnet Canyon in the Tetons (and I DO mean up!!!). So the blog is an adventure of a different sort - but if it will help me keep in touch with my friends and family, I guess I'll give it a try. How often I update it will depend entirely on work and play. |
| Interests | Climbing, camping, hiking, writing, children, grandchildren. . . Not necessarily in that order. |
| Favorite movies | Strictly Ballroom, The Bourne Series, the new James Bond with Daniel Craig - it's less salacious, more plot - and it DOES have Daniel Craig. . . |
| Favorite music | Lots of different types of music from jazz to classical and soft rock to country and western. In fact, I was just watching Cold Play the other day - like the music but HATE how the lead singer hops around on stage. Not because it's ungraceful - but it shows in his voice, and breathless renditions of songs should be left to Happy Birtday Mr. President by Marilyn Monroe. |
| Favorite books | It would be easier to discuss the books I don't like. But some of my favorites are the Twilight Series, The Whistling Season by Ivan Doig (actually anything by Ivan Doig), The Kitchen Gods Wife by Amy Tan. Anything by Tony Hillerman (and isn't it sad that he passed away two weeks ago). The series by Julia Spencer Fleming, Oh, and the JoAnna Brady sieries by J.A. Jance. The early works of Mary Higgins Clark, the early works of Margaret Truman, Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner, Harry Potter (except Book five!!!), The Secret of Bees (don't remember the author), Lincoln, A Photo Biography, by Russell Freedman and more. . . |
