Introduction	I recently started taking flying lessons (again). Not a New Year’s resolution per se – I have the time, and more importantly, money to finally get it done. I am working on getting my private pilot's certificate. I first started taking flying lessons in 1992 with a flying club at the University of Texas and have stopped and started again these last fifteen years without yielding a license. I’m thinking I should have completed this process long ago. The price of lessons has gone up - significantly. I have been fascinated with airplanes since I was a child. I have wanted to be a pilot in some form or fashion ever since I can remember. This journal is really my own way of putting into words what the experience is like. As with my travelogues you may join the ride if you’d like. The first entry will be long as I explain some functions that may be abbreviated in the future. This may not be quite as entertaining as eating some exotic creature in a foriegn country as in previous writings but thanks for stopping by. -russ
