IntroductionWell, I've lived my life primarily on 3 continents.. first, Africa, where i was born, then South Asia, where i grew up, and now, the U.S.A, where, well, I'm not doing much...
InterestsCarnatic music, and music in general. A.R.Rahman is what is most frequently playing on my pod.. Indian History, Hinduism, anthropology, biogeography and travel pique my interest.. Im also a foodie.. like to try new stuff, but wouldn't go as far as bull's testicles or shark fin soup. Prefer my curd rice with sun dried salted chillies any day..
Favorite moviesThe Kite runner, Lord of War, Blood Diamond, Hotel Rwanda, The Last King of Scotland, Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, National Treasure, Harry Potter, The Matrix trilogy, Hot Shots, Naked Gun, Lock stock and 2 smoking barrels, The eternal sunshine of a spotless mind. Ayutha Ezhuthu and Virumaandi are my tamil favorites, although i don't watch too many tamil movies
Favorite musicI try to listen to everything there is... but the truth is, i'm not that into hard roch and heavy metal. Dont mind aerosmith, Guns 'n Roses and metallica... like the music of Floyd, but wouldnt listen to any of that if i had a choice.. what i really listen to these days is world music.. Baba maal, Ali Farka Toure, Casa Eviora, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Khaled, Rachid Taha, Amar Diab, Cheb Mami, Enya... the list goes on... when i'm not listening to world music, i listen to the next best thing, New age music - Enigma, Delerium and Deep Forest... When i'm not in a mood for that, i usually listen to Dido or the Corrs or Sarah Mclachan or Sting or Eagles or the Dire Straits... Recently i've really got into R&B primarily because of Timothy Z Mosley aka Timbaland.. When thats not happening, I'ts closer to home with Sanjay Subramaniam, Unnikrishnan, Vijay Shiva,Sudha Raghunathan, Bombay Jayashree, Aruna Sayeeram, Ranjini-Gayathri and T.M.Krishna. Oh and I forgot, I'm like the biggest fan of A.R.Rahman...
Favorite booksWikipedia.. does that qualify? i don't care if it's not peer reviewed! It's quick and easy.. besides that, I like those huge atlases, where I can study every nook and cranny of the physical world map.. Like wise fore Big chronicles on world history.. Science- well, if it's physics such as relativity, chaos and astro physics, then i'd gobble it up. Biology - if it's evolution and sociobiology and genetics, definitely.. Micheal Crichton, Robin Cook, Khaled Hosseni,Paul Brunton, Harry Potter etc etc..

The wicked backspin caught you off guard. How will you play it off without losing your footing?

with a late cut..
