| Introduction | A focal point of Angela’s tour as Miss Michigan is her dedication to her community-service platform, The Make-A-Wish Foundation® (MAW). Angela has been dedicated to granting the wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses since 2002 as a certified wish-granter, fundraiser and public promoter for MAW. As a student at Michigan State University, Angela co-founded a unique student organization, America’s Stars, dedicated to fundraising, wish-granting and volunteering for MAW. Today, that student organization has grown to over 3,000 students on seven different college campuses throughout the Mid-West. As the National Director of Marketing and Expansion for America’s Stars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation®, Angela is using the Miss Michigan crown to promote and expand Stars to colleges throughout the U.S. In recognition of her service, she was named a finalist for the 2007 Miss America Quality of Life Award. For her talent, Angela performs a contemporary ballet, "en pointe". |
