Introduction	I started cooking before I could write my name in cursive...my ongoing devotion to food would be considered strange by nearly any family but my own-who, despite being remarkably health conscious all have the same weakness for epicurean delights as I do. My parents, aunts, uncles and indeed grandparents are all self professed foodies. I learned from a young age to enjoy food, and it was only a matter of time before I felt the urge to create my own enjoyable delights. My family instilled in me a few truths about making great food. First, the secret to making great food is using great ingredients. It is worth paying a little more for hormone free meat, organic produce, and whole grains. Second, always try to enjoy food with other people. I even prefer to cook in the company of my friends (although many of them are complete dingbats with a chef’s knife). I invite them over, give em’ a beer and chat while cooking. In any case, eating with your family, friends, and neighbors will quickly improve your relationship with food.
