Introduction	The University of Glasgow has proposed to close the School of Nursing as part of its recently announced cuts. We are fighting this proposal for the following reasons: - The course has been rated in the Top Ten in the Times Higher Good University Guide. - The School has been rated No1 in the National Student Survey (including gaining a score of 100% student satisfaction) - During the most recent intake the course had over 900 applicants for only 45 places, it is extremely popular and oversubscribed - Graduates from the Nursing and Health Care School are very highly sought after and many have been headhunted by centres of excellence. - The degree is science based and so unique in the West of Scotland. - Graduates have a 99% employment rate 12 months after graduation - The department is a profitable one
