Favorite books	this is like asking a parent which child is their favorite. impossible. but - to start somewhere - i'd start with these authors. william faulkner, michael chabon, neil gaiman, charles dickens, tom robbins, neal stephenson, ian mcewan, david mitchell, c.s. lewis, carl hiaasen, augusten burroughs, vikram chandra, j.r.r. tolkien, anthony bourdain, william shakespeare, marjorie kinnan rawlings, peter matthiessen, frank herbert, and yann martel. that's good for now. oh, and if it appears on oprah's book club list - just run the other way on principle.
