About me

OccupationInstructor Pilot
LocationHampton Roads Area, Virginia, United States
IntroductionI’ve been a flight instructor for over 25 years. I grew up in a flying family; my Grandfather and my Mom were flight instructors for the Army Air Corp in WWII. My father was a career Air Force Officer who retired and then managed/developed the Greenbrier Valley Airport (KLWB) for 29 years. I served as both a helicopter and airplane pilot in the U.S. Army. I retired from the active Army a few years back but still work as a contract flight instructor teaching advanced flight procedures and instrument training to active Army pilots. This requires me to fly many different aircraft, both fixed-wing and helicopters for research and development. My job keeps me current in the newest avionics and industry developments as well as FAA regulations. I am a partner in a Cirrus SR22 Turbo. This is the second Cirrus I’ve owned, the first being a 2002 SR22. I’m a Cirrus Standardized Instructor and hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP) for both airplanes and helicopters. I’m also a certified flight instructor (CFI) in single and multiengine airplanes, helicopters, along with instrument airplane and helicopter instructor privileges.
