| Introduction | Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Barbara lived in the DeTonty Street home featured in Life’s Pages, until 1955, when the family moved to Brentwood, a suburb of St. Louis. The much-loved house on DeTonty Street – Barbara’s first “home”– continues to hold many fond memories for her within its walls. About the author: A graduate of Brentwood High School in St. Louis, Barbara attended Drake University before relocating to California, where she completed her BA at California State University, Northridge. Post-graduate studies at California Lutheran University yielded her teaching credential. After briefly teaching English and Math in Oxnard, California, a career re-evaluation redirected her focus to the newspaper industry both in nearby Oxnard, and in Camarillo, California, where she lived for twenty years before relocating to Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is currently enjoying newfound freedom as a retired “baby-boomer”, which allows time for her to pursue a lifelong dream of writing stories that will both entertain and inspire her audience. |
