| Introduction | I am a writer from Amsterdam. I studied philosophy (I don't know why). I lived in New York City for 9 years (I know exactly why) and worked as a correspondent for newspapers, magazines and radio. In 2005 I returned to Amsterdam. In 2008 FAKE, my first novel, set in America, appeared. It was well received. Hopefully it will be translated in your language soon. In 2013 my second book, Zalig uiteinde, a coming of age novel, was published. In 2013, I started working as a mailman in Amsterdam. My life as a mailman turned out to be a subject impossible not to write about. Diary of a Mailman appeared in October 2016 (Thomas Rap). Latest news: I am no longer a mailman. My employer interpreted my book as a 350-page resignation letter, which it kind of wasn't. Even newer news: in 2017, my novel Het dispuut came out, a story about humiliation in Dutch fraternities. Forthcoming (what a wonderful word that is), is my novel Waanzin, a not so crazy study on madness, in all its splendid variations. |
