Introduction In 2002 Lucky S Michaels was employed at Sylvia’s Place. As director She was appointed to & has served several years on the National Advisory Council for LGBTQ youth. Author of "Shelter" which appeared in the NY Times, The Advocate & earned Lucky a place in the list of top 40 advocates born before the Stonewall Riots. She is an advocate for people living with HIV/AIDS, holds a seat appointed by the NYC mayor & coauthored the CDC HIV Testing Guidelines & the Rapid & Conventional Testing Practices of Homeless Youth. Published recently in the Lawyer’s Manual on Human Trafficking. Her current work focuses on the sexual exploitation & human trafficking of minors, sex for survival, & sex work. Mental health services for all, tackling the discrimination of trans individuals, & ensuring policy & legislative change to better the lives of LGBTQI2-S youth are all issues that as founder of a global justice project she focuses on. A voice to NGO's, CBO's, & academia she provides technical assistance & developmental support. She's a Transgender advocate through and through.
