| Introduction | I like to think of myself as a political moderate with a lean to the right. Most of my ideas follow those of conservatives but I tend to see compromises between opposing party ideas. I was raised in a strict conservative household yet I have lived in Austin my whole life. These two extremes contradict each other very much yet clearly both influence my political ideas. As far as actual political experience, I have none. I have never voted in an election because I was too young until quite recently. As far as this course goes, I am taking it because it is a requirement for my microbiology degree from Texas A&M. I have never had a strong interest in politics because of the friction is causes between people. However, in this class, I would like to learn more about the system that governs me in Texas and learn how it affects my everyday life. |
